About The Position

A clinically competent registered professional nurse who uses the nursing process—assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation—to provide safe, therapeutic care. The position serves acutely ill patients admitted primarily for medical/surgical diagnoses or maternal-child health needs, performs nursing care for patients with complex, multisystem needs, and works as part of interdisciplinary and nursing teams. The nurse carries out established nursing procedures and contributes to the unit’s and organization’s progress while using effective verbal and non-verbal communication to support customer satisfaction and a positive work environment. The RN is accountable to the unit Manager and/or department Director, follows nursing standards of practice, demonstrates annual competence in critical behaviors for the assigned area, and supports teamwork and positive working relationships. Care may be delegated or assigned to other staff within the limits of their licensure, certification, competency, and applicable regulations; the RN directs care provided by LVNs, CNAs, nursing students, and/or logistics technicians. The position also requires participation in the organization-wide Performance Improvement Program and demonstration of IRAISE values in professional and patient-care interactions.
