Provides general nursing care to patients and families throughout the continuum of care in diverse, acute health care settings. The registered nurse is accountable for the practice of nursing as defined by the Ohio Board of Nursing and delegates nursing tasks to licensed practical nurses and unlicensed assistive personnel according to the Ohio Nurse Practice Act. The nurse provides professional nursing care according to department policies and nursing care standards, and is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care for assigned patients. Assignments may be on different units or at different care sites within the designated level of care, and are communicated from two hours to several weeks in advance. The role suits adaptable clinicians who can ask questions, seek clarification, adjust to different unit workflows, and work independently while delivering high-quality care. This is a full-time position scheduled for 36 hours per week on the night shift, providing medical-surgical-level care. Flex associates receive float pay and mileage reimbursement. The department has scheduled staff to operate 24/7/365. As a High Reliability Organization, OhioHealth expects a focus on safety, quality, and efficiency.
