About The Position

Provides general nursing care to patients and families throughout the continuum of care in diverse, acute health care settings. The department has scheduled staff to operate 24/7/365. The RN is accountable for the practice of nursing as defined by the Ohio Board of Nursing and delegates nursing tasks to licensed practical nurses (LPNs) and unlicensed assistive personnel (UAPs) using the criteria in the Ohio Nurse Practice Act. According to department policies and nursing care standards, the RN provides professional nursing care services to patients and is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for assigned patients.

This position is on the Med Surg Unit 1 and works a night shift for 36 scheduled hours per week. As a High Reliability Organization, OhioHealth requires focus on safety, quality, and efficiency in performing job duties. Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse license from the State of Ohio and/or a current Registered Nurse license in good standing with a multi-state compact state.
• BLS certification.
• BSN required by five years of employment.

Responsibilities

• Performs initial, ongoing, and functional health status assessments as applicable to the population or individual.
• Documents planned nursing interventions based on nursing diagnoses and collaborative problems to achieve outcomes appropriate to patient needs.
• Evaluates and documents responses to nursing interventions and achievement of outcomes at appropriate intervals.
• Revises the plan of care based on evaluative data as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Participates in process improvement activities to achieve targeted measures of clinical quality, customer satisfaction, and financial performance.
• Performs operational responsibilities.
• Delegates nursing tasks to LPNs and UAPs in accordance with the Ohio Nurse Practice Act.
• Focuses on safety, quality, and efficiency while performing job duties.
