About The Position

Provides general nursing care to patients and families throughout the continuum of care in diverse acute health care settings. The department operates 24/7/365. The RN is accountable for nursing practice as defined by the Ohio Board of Nursing and delegates nursing tasks to licensed practical nurses and unlicensed assistive personnel according to the Ohio Nurse Practice Act. In accordance with department policies and nursing care standards, the RN provides professional nursing care and is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care for assigned patients.

The role includes assessing patients’ health status, identifying outcomes and planning interventions, evaluating responses to care and revising care plans with a multidisciplinary team, participating in process improvement, and supporting operational responsibilities. Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse license from the State of Ohio and/or a current Registered Nurse license in good standing with a multi-state compact state.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• BSN required at five years of employment.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial, ongoing, and functional health status assessments, as applicable to the population or individual.
• Document planned nursing interventions based on nursing diagnoses and collaborative problems to achieve outcomes appropriate to patient needs.
• Evaluate and document responses to nursing interventions and achievement of outcomes at appropriate intervals.
• Revise the plan of care based on evaluative data as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Participate actively in process improvement activities to achieve targeted clinical quality, customer satisfaction, and financial performance measures.
• Perform operational responsibilities.
• Maintain focus on safety, quality, and efficiency while performing job duties.
• Delegate nursing tasks to licensed practical nurses and unlicensed assistive personnel according to the Ohio Nurse Practice Act.
