About The Position

Provides general nursing care to patients and families throughout the continuum of care in diverse, acute health care settings. The department has scheduled staff to operate 24/7/365. The RN is accountable for nursing practice as defined by the Ohio Board of Nursing and delegates nursing tasks to licensed practical nurses and unlicensed assistive personnel according to criteria in the Ohio Nurse Practice Act. In accordance with department policies and nursing care standards, the RN provides professional nursing services and is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care for assigned patients. The role requires a focus on safety, quality, and efficiency as part of a High Reliability Organization. The job profile is an overview of responsibilities and may change.

Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse license from the State of Ohio and/or a current Registered Nurse license in good standing with a multi-state compact state.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required within five years of employment.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial, ongoing, and functional health status assessments appropriate to the patient population and individual.
• Document planned nursing interventions based on nursing diagnoses and collaborative problems to achieve outcomes appropriate to patient needs.
• Evaluate and document responses to nursing interventions and achievement of outcomes at appropriate intervals.
• Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to revise plans of care based on evaluative data.
• Participate in process improvement activities to achieve targeted measures of clinical quality, customer satisfaction, and financial performance.
• Delegate nursing tasks to licensed practical nurses and unlicensed assistive personnel in accordance with the Ohio Nurse Practice Act.
• Maintain a focus on safety, quality, and efficiency when performing job duties.
