About The Position

The Staff RN is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for an identified group of patients in an inpatient environment. The nurse demonstrates competency in providing care primarily to adults. The Staff RN-Inpatient role incorporates essential functions adapted from the ANA Nursing: Scope and Standards of Practice, 2nd Edition (2010). This position is onsite at Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and is scheduled for three 12-hour shifts per week, 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., with 72 standard hours per pay period. Weekend coverage is required every third weekend, and holidays follow a rotation schedule.

Requirements

Clinical competence and experience in the care and management of patient populations specific to the area of employment.
Professional knowledge of nursing theory and practice, normally acquired through completion of education at an accredited School of Nursing sufficient for eligibility for Registered Nurse licensure.
Current Wisconsin Registered Nurse license or a multistate nursing license from a participating Nurse Licensure Compact state.
American Heart Association Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider certification, or an AHA-approved equivalent, within 90 days of hire.
Newly hired or transferred RNs without a BSN or higher nursing degree and with less than one year of RN experience must provide proof of acceptance into an accredited BSN or higher nursing-degree program within 15 months of hire or transfer and complete the program within five years of enrollment, subject to the exceptions stated in the posting.
