About The Position

Provides general nursing care to patients and families throughout the continuum of care in diverse acute health care settings. The department has scheduled staff to operate 24/7/365. The RN is accountable for nursing practice as defined by the Ohio Board of Nursing and delegates nursing tasks to licensed practical nurses and unlicensed assistive personnel under criteria in the Ohio Nurse Practice Act. Following department policies and nursing care standards, the RN provides professional nursing care and is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care for assigned patients. The role requires attention to safety, quality, and efficiency as part of a High Reliability Organization. The job profile is an overview of responsibilities and may change.

Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse license from the State of Ohio or a current Registered Nurse license in good standing with a multi-state compact state.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• BSN required within five years of employment.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial, ongoing, and functional health status assessments as applicable to the patient population and individual.
• Document planned nursing interventions based on nursing diagnoses and collaborative problems to achieve outcomes appropriate to patient needs.
• Evaluate and document responses to nursing interventions and achievement of outcomes at appropriate intervals.
• Revise the plan of care based on evaluative data as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Participate in process improvement activities to achieve targeted measures of clinical quality, customer satisfaction, and financial performance.
• Delegate nursing tasks to licensed practical nurses and unlicensed assistive personnel in accordance with the Ohio Nurse Practice Act.
• Provide professional nursing care according to department policies and nursing care standards, focusing on safety, quality, and efficiency.
