Staff Product Manager, Agent Hosting

LiveKit
$225,000 - $265,000

About The Position

LiveKit is seeking a Product Manager to lead its Agent Hosting product, focusing on how developers deploy, scale, and run agents on LiveKit Cloud. This role is crucial for LiveKit's production agent runtime and a key revenue driver. The Product Manager will establish the vision and roadmap for Agent Hosting, encompassing new features, global coverage, and pricing strategies. This position involves close collaboration with the engineering team responsible for building the product. The Agent Hosting product is designed to support mission-critical voice agents for large companies, handling hundreds of millions of minutes monthly, with a strong emphasis on fast deployments, automatic scaling, and unwavering reliability and low latency. The scope is also expanding beyond voice agents to encompass all types of agents, requiring the Product Manager to help define the future of the agent runtime.

Requirements

  • 8+ years in product management, at a senior or staff level, ideally having owned a developer-facing infrastructure or platform product.
  • Technical depth: ability to reason about distributed systems, runtimes, scaling, and latency, and earn the trust of strong engineers. Understanding systems well enough to make good tradeoffs is essential, though writing code is not required.
  • Infrastructure product sense: experience owning a product where reliability and performance at scale were core, with judgment about tradeoffs behind deploy speed, autoscaling, and cost.
  • Cross-functional influence: ability to influence through clarity, trust, and good judgment, not process or hierarchy, given LiveKit's engineering teams operate with high autonomy.
  • Communication as a superpower: clear writing, strong presentation skills, and the ability to navigate between board-level strategy and detailed technical discussions.
  • Comfort with ambiguity: ability to figure out what matters, prioritize ruthlessly, and move quickly without perfect information in a fast-growing company with a small product team.

Nice To Haves

  • Built a serverless, deployment, container, or compute-platform product that developers ran production workloads on.
  • Familiarity with autoscaling, cold-start reduction, and multi-region deployment.
  • Familiarity with how teams deploy and operate software in production.
  • Background at a developer tools or infrastructure company.
  • Familiarity with voice AI, real-time communication, or telephony.
  • Experience with usage-based pricing models.

Responsibilities

  • Own the hosting roadmap, setting a clear vision and a sequenced plan for the product, and deciding what gets built and when, in partnership with engineering.
  • Ship a runtime people rely on, turning deploys, scaling, and reliability into an experience customers trust with their production workloads, and continuously raising the bar.
  • Make scale automatic by driving work on cold starts, autoscaling, regional coverage, and performance so customers can run at massive volume without thinking about it.
  • Get deep with customers and data to understand how teams actually deploy and operate agents in production, and let that shape priorities.
  • Grow it into a business by driving adoption and revenue so Agent Hosting reflects the real value it delivers as our production runtime.
  • Expand what the runtime is by helping take Hosting beyond voice agents to all kinds of agents.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary and equity package
  • Health, dental, and vision benefits
  • Flexible vacation policy
