Staff Product Designer, T:0 (Agentic) Finance

Airwallex•San Francisco, CA
•$160,000 - $210,000

About The Position

Airwallex is hiring a Staff Product Designer for its T:0 (Agentic) Finance team, which builds production AI to eliminate financial busywork for startups. The team develops intelligent automation across payments, payroll, bookkeeping, and tax, using approaches ranging from prompt engineering and in-context learning to fine-tuned models and agentic systems. It works from founder pain points, owns customer outcomes, and ships quickly, backed by Airwallex’s fintech infrastructure and global payments network. The designer will define and drive product design vision from early concepts through launch, partnering with product and engineering. They will research user needs, translate complex financial workflows into approachable experiences, and lead end-to-end design across desktop, mobile web, and native apps. The role also contributes to product strategy, roadmap, customer validation, and the team’s design culture and principles. Designers at Airwallex work closely with product and engineering, have access to senior leadership, and help shape both what gets built and how it works.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience as a UX or product designer.
  • Expertise designing for desktop web, mobile web, and native app experiences.

  • Proficiency in UX methods, including generative research, information architecture, interaction design, and user testing.
  • Ability to think in systems.
  • Ability to clearly articulate design rationale to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • A proven record of leading projects end to end in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.

Responsibilities

  • Define and drive product design vision for the assigned area, from initial sketches through shipped product, in partnership with product and engineering.
  • Work with product managers to scope design requirements and create lean project plans that allow for research, exploration, and testing.
  • Research, understand, and advocate for user needs throughout product development, translating complex financial workflows into approachable experiences.
  • Lead end-to-end design across desktop, mobile web, and native app experiences, collaborating with engineers through key stages and handoff.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams, including the design system team, to deliver cohesive solutions across a system rather than isolated screens.
  • Build deep domain knowledge and connect work across the team.
  • Contribute to product strategy, roadmap, and customer validation.
  • Help shape the team’s design culture and principles.
