About The Position

Centurion is seeking a full-time Staff Physician to provide clinical services to the Maryland incarcerated population at Western Correctional Institution in Cumberland, Maryland. The role is listed as a Monday–Friday day shift. The position involves providing clinical direction and direct patient care to meet the site's service-delivery requirements, supervising and evaluating medical services, and clinically supervising medical staff. The physician will participate in relevant committees and collaborate with agency leadership, onsite providers, and nursing staff. Requirements

Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited medical school.
Active and unrestricted MD/DO license, or ability to obtain one.
Board certification or eligibility in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Emergency Medicine.
Active Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) registration, or ability to obtain it.
Ability to pass credentialing and a background check.

Responsibilities

Provide clinical direction and direct patient care to meet the service-delivery requirements of the assigned site.
Supervise and evaluate medical services for pre-trial or incarcerated populations.
Provide clinical supervision for medical staff.
Chair or participate in committees, including Continuous Quality Improvement, Infection Control, and Pharmacy and Therapeutics.
Interface with agency clinical and administrative leadership on issues related to medical services.
Collaborate closely with onsite providers and nursing staff in providing healthcare services to pre-trial and incarcerated populations.
