BAPTIST HEALTH PRINCETON HOSPITAL - ICU - STAFF PHYSICIAN
About The Position
TeamHealth is seeking a critical care physician to join the ICU team at Baptist Health Princeton Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama. The role provides expert care for critically ill adult patients and involves collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to manage complex cases in the intensive care setting. The hospital is a well-established acute care facility with 505 licensed beds serving western Jefferson County. The position offers TeamHealth resources, clinical education and performance tools, a physician-led culture, leadership and advancement opportunities, APC support, and collaboration with the hospital medicine and emergency department teams. The electronic medical record system is EPIC.
Requirements
- Board-certified or board-eligible in critical care medicine, internal medicine, or family medicine.
- Alabama medical license or eligibility for one.
- Strong clinical and communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct ICU patient care, including daily assessments, management of life-support technologies, ventilator management, hemodynamic support, and critical care procedures.
- Collaborate with specialists, hospitalists, nursing, respiratory therapy, and ancillary services to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Participate in multidisciplinary rounds, clinical decision-making, and family communication.
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record system.
- Support ICU quality improvement initiatives, patient safety efforts, and institutional protocols.
- Participate in scheduled coverage, including nights or weekend call as defined by the department schedule.
