About The Position

The Department of Human Services (DHS) is seeking a Staff Physician 2 who is motivated to provide direct medical care in a supportive hospital environment. Requirements

• Three years of experience and/or training in the practice of medicine.
• Possess a license to practice medicine in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as issued by the State Medicine Board, or the State Osteopathic Medicine Board.
• Pass a background investigation.
• Medical examination and a drug screening.
• Satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.

Responsibilities

• Oversee primary medical care for assigned patients and coordinate treatment with clinical staff
• Interpret laboratory reports, confirm clinical findings, and determine diagnoses
• Order and review medical studies before making referrals to specialists
• Assess and prioritize patient examination and observation across various hospital units
• Provide lunch time coverage on a rotation basis and assist with hospital-wide coverage during off hours
• Make individual care and referral decisions for patients
