This position focuses on providing direct, patient-centered care under the guidance of a Registered Nurse. The role supports daily living tasks, observation, communication, and emergency response.

Requirements

Successful completion of the Aide Trainee program (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or Six months of experience in the care, activities, and personal guidance of individuals with mental health or physical illness or disabilities; or Certification as a Nurse Aide or Nursing Assistant through the Pennsylvania Department of Health.

Be able to perform essential job functions.
Successful completion of a medical examination and a drug screening.
Satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.

Responsibilities

Assist patients with daily living activities and help maintain personal comfort and hygiene
Monitor patient behavior and report changes or concerns to nursing staff
Respond to medical or psychiatric emergencies by following established procedures and using trained skills
Support patients during leisure, program, and movement activities both on and off hospital grounds
Document observations, patient information, and assigned tasks in a clear and accurate manner
Use proper techniques and standard precautions to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff
