About The Position

M Chest Pharmacy is seeking a part-time Staff Pharmacist at its Sulphur Springs, Texas location. The role provides pharmaceutical services for long-term-care and other institutional care settings. The schedule is Saturday and Sunday, either 8 a.m.–6 p.m. or 9 a.m.–7 p.m., for 20 hours per weekend. Pay is $68.00 per hour. The pharmacist evaluates medication orders, ensures dispensing accuracy and regulatory compliance, provides clinical expertise, and assists with oversight of pharmacy staff.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited School of Pharmacy or PharmD.
Current, unrestricted Texas Pharmacist License.
Driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

Evaluate medication orders for drug, dosage, route, interactions, geriatric considerations, warnings and precautions, potential adverse reactions, and stability.
Procure and maintain required documentation in accordance with state and federal regulations and M Chest policy.
Ensure the accuracy of filled medications.
Audit automated dispensing machines to ensure the accuracy of filled medications.
Respond professionally to medication-related questions and provide clinical expertise.
Assist the PIC with instructing, directing, and overseeing pharmacy technicians and staff.
Follow current guidelines for preparing compounds, including I.V. therapy.
Strive to ensure staff compliance with internal controls and state and federal regulations.
Participate in developing and implementing plans of improvement as indicated, recommended, or required by a supervisor, manager, home office, or regulatory compliance consultant.
Communicate progress toward goals and ongoing obstacles to the supervisor and company management team, verbally or in writing, as appropriate.
