Requirements

  • Associate's degree or equivalent and 4 to 6 years of relevant experience
  • Active CDL A License
  • 2 years over-the-road CDL driving experience or other related technical experience
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, ability to work independently and adapt seamlessly to fast-paced, dynamic environments.
  • Skilled in engaging and supporting students from different cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities effectively and meet tight deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Forms, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, Word).

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent and 4 to 6 years of relevant experience
  • 5 years of CDL driving experience or other related technical experience
  • CDL Driving instructor experience and/or trainee road supervision
  • Proficient in Electronic Logging Devices (ELD)
  • Experience working at the community college level is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate delivery of CDL training to students from a variety of backgrounds and monitor all student skill progress.
  • Ensure students comply with all federal and state DOT requirements and ensure program standards continually meet the Federal Training Provider Registry Requirements.
  • Schedule and prepare students for successful CDL driving test.
  • Work daily with the team to organize classroom, range, and on-the-road student training activities, being mindful of student-to-instructor ratio and individual student learning styles.
  • Evaluate and assess student completion and learning outcomes.
  • Collaborate with Workforce Solutions support team for student success coaching and tracking as needed.
  • Participate in student and employer recruitment events, as well as student retention activities.
  • Participate in team planning meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned including but not limited to potential night-time instruction as needed.
