About The Position

Celestica is seeking a staff engineer to lead manufacturing test strategy and process initiatives, connecting Hardware Design, Software/Diagnostics, and Manufacturing Test teams. The position leads the definition and execution of test processes, including integrating AI into testing, deploying adaptive testing methods, and advancing test data analytics. The role focuses on developing and standardizing manufacturing test processes; integrating boundary scan strategies into hardware design; governing Manufacturing Test Requirement Specification (MTRS) flows; and adopting analytics to improve yield, reduce false failures, and inform engineering decisions. The position also coordinates cross-functional technical projects, schedules, risks, and deliverables. Duties are performed in a manufacturing environment and may require occasional travel.

Requirements

  • At least 7 years of experience in test engineering, DFT, or hardware manufacturing.
  • At least 3 years successfully managing complex technical projects or leading cross-functional teams.
  • Experience defining and implementing manufacturing test processes, particularly MTRS flows and test strategy documentation.
  • Strong understanding of Design for Testability (DFT), boundary scan diagnostics, and incorporating requirements into early hardware design phases.
  • Experience implementing or managing test data analytics platforms.
  • Understanding of statistical quality metrics, including Cpk, Gauge R&R, and SPC.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field; educational requirements may vary by geography.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with modern test innovations, including AI applications in manufacturing and adaptive or dynamic testing methods.
  • PMP, Agile, or related project management certification.

Responsibilities

  • Lead development, standardization, and rollout of manufacturing test processes to improve efficiency, minimize cycle times, and maximize product yield.
  • Optimize boundary scan (JTAG/IEEE 1149.x) strategies within hardware design workflows to support physical access and structural test coverage from early design stages.
  • Define, govern, and optimize end-to-end Manufacturing Test Requirement Specification (MTRS) flows and coordinate deliverables among product design, diagnostics software, and factory test teams.
  • Introduce artificial intelligence and machine learning into the test ecosystem and oversee adaptive testing frameworks that adjust sequences and limits using real-time factory data.
  • Lead adoption and integration of test data analytics platforms and use metrics such as Cpk, Gauge R&R, and SPC to support predictive yield modeling, reduce false failures, and guide engineering decisions.
  • Coordinate Hardware Design, Software, and Manufacturing Test Development teams; manage schedules and risks and ensure diagnostic capabilities support manufacturing efficiency.
  • Occasional travel may be required.

Benefits

  • A comprehensive benefits package is offered in addition to the stated salary range.
  • Target short-term incentive (STI) compensation is included in the stated salary range.
