Staff Engineer, Test Manufacturing-DFT, Test strategy and Data analytics

Celestica International LP•Austin, TX
•$122,761 - $191,405

About The Position

Celestica is seeking a Staff Engineer to lead transformative initiatives in its Test Engineering organization. The role focuses on implementing manufacturing test processes and connecting Hardware Design, Software/Diagnostics, and Manufacturing Test teams. The position leads test strategy and process definition and execution, including integrating AI into testing, deploying adaptive testing methods, and advancing test data analytics. The role leads development, standardization, and rollout of manufacturing test processes to improve efficiency, reduce cycle times, and maximize product yield. It champions boundary scan strategies in hardware design workflows to support physical access and structural test coverage from early design stages, and defines and optimizes end-to-end Manufacturing Test Requirement Specifications (MTRS) flows. The Staff Engineer also leads AI and machine-learning initiatives in the test ecosystem, oversees adaptive testing frameworks that adjust test sequences and limits using real-time factory data, and supports adoption of test data analytics platforms. Analytics work includes using Cpk, Gauge R&R, and SPC to support predictive yield modeling, reduce false failures, and inform engineering decisions. The position coordinates cross-functional schedules, risks, and deliverables across Hardware Design, Software, and Manufacturing Test Development. Duties are performed in a manufacturing environment and may involve occasional travel. The listed annual base salary range is $122,761–$191,405; the stated range includes base salary and target Short-Term Incentive compensation only. Celestica offers a comprehensive benefits package in addition to this range.

Requirements

  • At least 7 years of experience in test engineering, DFT, or hardware manufacturing.
  • At least 3 years of experience managing complex technical projects or leading cross-functional teams.
  • Proven experience defining and implementing manufacturing test processes, particularly MTRS flows and test strategy documentation.
  • Strong understanding of Design for Testability (DFT), boundary scan diagnostics, and incorporating requirements into early hardware design phases.
  • Experience implementing or managing test data analytics platforms.
  • Knowledge of statistical quality metrics including Cpk, Gauge R&R, and SPC.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field; educational requirements may vary by geography.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with AI applications in manufacturing and adaptive or dynamic testing methodologies.
  • PMP, Agile, or related project management certification.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development, standardization, and rollout of manufacturing test processes to improve operational efficiency, minimize cycle times, and maximize product yield.
  • Optimize boundary scan (JTAG/IEEE 1149.x) strategies and integrate them into hardware design workflows to ensure physical access and structural test coverage from early design stages.
  • Define, govern, and optimize end-to-end Manufacturing Test Requirement Specifications (MTRS) flows and coordinate deliverables across product design, diagnostics software, and factory test teams.
  • Lead introduction of artificial intelligence and machine learning within the test ecosystem.
  • Oversee deployment of adaptive testing frameworks that dynamically adjust test sequences and limits based on real-time factory data.
  • Lead adoption and integration of test data analytics platforms.
  • Use Cpk, Gauge R&R, and SPC metrics to support predictive yield modeling, reduce false failures, and inform engineering decisions.
  • Coordinate Hardware Design, Software, and Manufacturing Test Development teams; drive schedules, manage risks, and ensure diagnostic capabilities account for manufacturing efficiency.
