Requirements

  • MSc or PhD degree in electronic/ microelectronic engineering, physics, or power electronics
  • 1~3 years’ experience in circuit schematic and PCB design
  • 1~3 years’ experience in semiconductor IC design tools, e.g., Cadence IC design
  • Knowledgeable in semiconductor device physics, preferably GaN HEMT’s, III-V devices, or SiC devices
  • Must be eligible to meet the requirements of export control regulations, including the Canadian Controlled Goods Program and Canadian government security requirements; and/or (as necessary): Candidate must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance
  • Individual must not pose a risk for safeguarding of controlled goods
  • Must be eligible to handle US export-controlled data

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with GaN reliability stress tests (design, debug, operate), such as DHTOL, HTRB, HTGB, is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Be part of a development team that defines and develops cutting-edge GaN devices and power solutions from concept to market release
  • Design, develop, and improve reliability DUT daughter cards and stress test platforms, e.g., DHTOL- Dynamic High Temperature Operating Life(JEP-180 Switching Reliability for GaN Power Conversion Devices), to improve the turnaround of technology assessment
  • Design and layout wafer-level testing structures, MPW (multi-purpose wafer) dies for technology improvement DOEs
  • Order, calibrate, set up, and maintain high-voltage ( 2kV) lab equipment: electronic power supplies and loads, oscilloscopes, and function generators
  • Order and maintain ATE sockets, components, and PCBs for the development project
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including design files, test procedures, and manuals
  • Work with the technology development team to conduct look-ahead qualification and reliability tests, assess the risk of new technology, and identify potential reliability issues
