About The Position

TTM is seeking a Staff Electrical Design Engineer to lead the research, development, design, and test of hardware/firmware components, equipment and systems. Provides analysis related to the design, development and implementation. This role is within the Aerospace & Defense Sector, focusing on cutting-edge radar, surveillance, and communication systems. The engineer will leverage Firmware and/or Hardware skills, collaborate with industry professionals, and work with the latest aerospace innovations. A background that would permit the U.S. Department of Defense to issue a Secret clearance is required.

Requirements

  • Experience 10+ years
  • Firmware – High Speed FW Design (300 Mhz)
  • Firmware – Digital Filters
  • Firmware – FFT
  • Board – High Speed Design
  • Board – XILINX – RFSOC and MPOSC
  • Board – DDR5 memory
  • Board – Point of load power distribution
  • Integration and Test – Board – Ability to debug complex HW at board and box level.
  • Integration and Test – FW – Ability to debug complex FW and verify against a system model.
  • Tools – Matlab modeling for Firmware design
  • Tools – XILINX Simulink for Firmware design
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Must have a background that would permit the U.S. Department of Defense to issue a Secret clearance when necessary for work on a project that requires such a clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Firmware – RADAR Signal Processing – desired.
  • Firmware – DO-254 DAL A or DAL C experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Review/Interpret Customer Requirements/Customer Contracts.
  • Perform interpretation/verification of SDS requirements as allocated to Hardware CIs.

  • Develop complex system-level Hardware architecture, including design partitioning and component selection – FPGA, critical components
  • Implement high speed Digital Signal Processing (DSP) functions in an FPGA (digital filters, FFT…)
  • Perform trade studies (DARs)
  • Generate/direct generation of HRS for HWCI within system architecture.
  • Allocate Hardware Requirements to HWCI
  • Document Test Environment
  • Develop HW Verification Matrix - HRS requirement consumption verification
  • Develop hardware design, develop FW and unit test more complex constructs
  • Responsible for hardware integration and test of the HWCI circuit including Firmware implementation
  • Provide analysis of system data (from HW perspective); perform timing analysis; perform bus bandwidth analysis
  • Provide technical direction to and mentor other electrical engineers.
  • Present at PDR, CDR, TIMs (both internal and customer)
  • Generate hardware schedule for cost/schedule
  • Develop electrical engineering estimates for new proposals
  • Lead groups of electrical engineers through development tasks
  • Perform technical reviews of design and code to ensure design integrity
  • Investigate new tools and methods used in industry for application to our organization
  • Research technologies to further the core competencies within the discipline
