About The Position

Gifthealth is seeking a Staff Content Designer, Patient Experience, to shape how the company communicates with patients and create a system that keeps communications consistent as the organization scales. Gifthealth supports specialty pharmacy programs, where patient communications across text, email, digital experiences, and support interactions help build trust. The role reports to the Sr. Director of Digital Experience and supports the Patient Experience function within the product department, with a focus on organizational alignment, operational excellence, and compliance. This is initially a hands-on writing role that develops into a systems-focused role. The designer will establish the patient-facing voice and tone, write and improve high-priority patient content, and create tools and guidance that enable product, design, and operations teams to produce on-voice content independently. The role also involves collaborating with white-label clients and their brand and legal teams to find wording that meets partner needs while preserving clarity and appropriate length. During the first 90 days, the designer will draft the voice and tone foundation, core message templates, and gold-standard examples for a Claude skill; revise key patient flows such as checkout and onboarding; and audit SMS, email, and FAQ content to prioritize improvements. Ongoing work focuses on sensitive patient communications, voice AI scripts, and client-negotiated wording. The designer will establish a tiered review model so low-risk content can ship without direct review, medium-risk content receives an asynchronous check, and high-risk content receives direct attention. Success within 6 to 12 months means most patient-facing content can ship on-voice without the designer’s direct involvement, reserving their judgment for the highest-impact work. The position is full-time and exempt. The job description states that the location is not specified and should be confirmed with the hiring manager. It describes standard business hours, with possible flexibility for sensitive patient communications, client-negotiated wording, and voice AI script reviews. The salary range is $114,000–$142,000.

Requirements

  • 6–8 years of experience in content design, UX writing, or content strategy for a product; the description separately notes that specific years of experience were not specified in the source job description.
  • A portfolio demonstrating a voice or content system the candidate built, not only copy they wrote.
  • Comfort with compliance and legal review.
  • A track record of respectfully pushing back and arriving at better wording.
  • Hands-on experience using AI tools to scale content work and a considered perspective on where AI tools help and where they fail.
  • Ability to influence without authority across product, design, legal, and client teams.
  • Ability to work at a computer for extended periods.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with product, design, operations, legal, and client teams.
  • Ability to produce and review written content under tight timelines for sensitive patient-facing moments.
  • Ability to use AI tools to design, test, and maintain content systems and guidelines.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Experience in healthcare, wellness, or another regulated space; the posting describes Noom-style environments as a strong signal.

Responsibilities

  • Define a distinct patient-facing Gifthealth voice and tone, separate from the marketing voice, and make it practical for checkout, portal, and notification contexts.
  • Align SMS, email, web app, website FAQs, and voice AI agent scripts to provide a coherent patient experience.
  • Design and maintain a Claude skill and supporting guidelines that enable product, design, and operations teams to generate and edit on-voice content.
  • Establish quality standards for AI-generated content, test them, and improve them over time.
  • Collaborate with white-label clients and their brand and legal teams on requested wording; balance partner needs with clarity and length.
  • Draft the voice and tone foundation, core message templates, and gold-standard examples during the first 90 days.
  • Rewrite important patient flows, including checkout and onboarding, and audit existing SMS, email, and FAQ content to set priorities.
  • Write and review content for sensitive patient moments, including cost, delays, adherence, and side effects.
  • Write or review voice AI scripts and client-negotiated wording.
  • Create a tiered content review model for low-, medium-, and high-risk content.
  • Work with product, design, operations, compliance, legal, and client teams to support alignment.
  • Produce and review written content under tight timelines for sensitive patient-facing moments.
  • Use AI tools to design, test, and maintain content systems and guidelines.
