About The Position

Addepar is seeking an experienced backend software engineer to join its Platform Integrations team. The role focuses on building client onboarding solutions that help clients bring financial data into Addepar so they can report on, analyze, and manage their data in one central place. The team works with Product and Client Solutions to understand client data and needs, and builds performant workflows and data systems that support day-to-day operations. The work emphasizes quality, user experience, scalability, high-volume data handling, and automation to reduce manual effort. The Staff Engineer will take ownership of technical solutions and architecture, lead individual projects from estimation and planning through implementation, communicate technical direction, and mentor other engineers. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States for any employer without current or future visa sponsorship and be authorized to begin work in the U.S. on their first day.

Requirements

At least 7 years of experience as a software engineer, preferably with Python and/or Java.
Strong ownership mentality and communication skills.
Ability and interest in taking ideas from inception through production.
Robust analytical and problem-solving skills.
Legal authorization to work in the United States for any employer without current or future visa sponsorship, and authorization to begin work in the U.S. on the first day of employment.

Nice To Haves

Experience with data processing and analysis using PySpark or similar frameworks.
Experience building data systems using AWS.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with Product, Client Solutions, and other engineering teams to deliver holistic client onboarding solutions.
Write well-designed and tested code to solve complex engineering problems.
Lead individual projects, including technical solution and architecture design, timeline and estimation, coding, and implementation.
Communicate technical ideas and steer project direction from an engineering standpoint.
Mentor and guide other engineers on the team.
