About The Position

Cherry Bekaert Staffing & Recruiting is supporting a well-established, privately held construction company in the Virginia Beach area with their search for a Part-Time Staff Accountant. This is a stable, long-term opportunity with a collaborative and flexible team environment. This role will support core accounting operations including payables, receivables, and payroll backup. The position is critical to maintaining day-to-day financial processes and offers the opportunity to step in immediately and make an impact.

Requirements

• Experience with QuickBooks (required)
• Strong Excel skills
• Solid understanding of AP/AR processes
• Ability to work independently in a small team environment
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Nice To Haves

• Construction or job costing experience is a plus, but not required

Responsibilities

• Process accounts payable and receivable transactions
• Assist with weekly payroll (primary processing completed on Mondays and Tuesdays)
• Provide backup support for billing and invoicing
• Utilize job costing functions within the accounting system
• Maintain accurate financial records and support general accounting tasks
