About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated Staff Accountant to join our team and contribute to the financial integrity of our esteemed Club. Our Accounting team plays a critical role in maintaining the financial stability of the organization, contributing to both our short-term objectives and long-term strategic vision. As a Staff Accountant, you will be integral in supporting the financial management of the Club, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and efficient financial operations. Ideal candidates possess a passion for organizational management, an aptitude for accounting principles, and the ability to collaborate effectively with the CFO, Assistant Controller, Accountants, Department Heads, and Senior Leadership. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred; equivalent accounting experience considered.
  • 2 to 4 years of accounting experience, preferably in hospitality or private club settings.
  • Working knowledge of GAAP and general accounting principles.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to multitask and work independently when required.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with private club operations and regulations.
  • Experience with club management or enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
  • Notary Public certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain adherence to accounting policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with company and industry standards.
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts and bank accounts monthly.
  • Analyze financial reports, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory, and general ledger.
  • Assist with year-end closing processes, including depreciation calculations, capital reconciliation, and financial statement preparation.
  • Support the preparation of monthly financial statements and accompanying schedules, including variance analyses against budgeted goals.
  • Monitor transactions against the annual budget and prepare regular revenue and business volume reports (weekly, monthly, quarterly, annually).
  • Support audits by ensuring accurate and timely financial documentation.
  • Monitor accounting and administrative controls to safeguard assets and mitigate risks of theft or fraud.
  • Conduct daily revenue audits for key operational departments (e.g., Golf, Food & Beverage).
  • Collaborate with the Purchasing Department and other teams on accounting tasks.
  • Foster productive relationships between accounting and other departments to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Cross-train with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable staff to ensure business continuity during absences or peak periods.
  • Review invoices for approval, verify general ledger coding, and ensure compliance with use tax and payment deadlines.
  • Provide support to the Assistant Controller and CFO as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to meet organizational needs.
