About The Position
VB Spine is seeking a talented Staff Accountant to join their high-performing Finance team. This role is crucial in supporting strategic decision-making and advancing the company's mission in spine care. The Staff Accountant will serve as the primary contact for financial consolidations, prepare and analyze management reports, and contribute to various financial processes including budgeting, SOX compliance, and tax filings. The position offers an opportunity for growth within a fast-paced, dynamic company.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business with a concentration in Accounting or Finance required
- 2–3 years of relevant finance or accounting experience
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including designing, building, and maintaining complex files
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and their application
- Ability to analyze and resolve complex accounting issues using independent judgment
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to interact effectively at all levels
Nice To Haves
- Experience with Oracle ERP and Hyperion Financials is a strong plus
- CPA (or working toward designation) is an asset
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary contact for the monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidation of Spine financial results
- Prepare and analyze monthly management reporting for Balance Sheet, Profit & Loss, and Cash Flow statements
- Prepare journal entries, perform account reconciliations, and conduct detailed financial analysis
- Provide analytical support during the annual budget and planning processes
- Participate in Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance and external financial statement audits
- Prepare Federal, State, and other tax packages and filings
- Identify and implement process improvement initiatives for journals, reconciliations, and reporting
- Respond to ad-hoc financial analysis and information requests from business unit leaders
- Collaborate with internal teams to promote a culture of inclusiveness, cooperation, and high performance
