About The Position

The Staff Accountant reports directly to the Accounting Manager. This role involves supporting the monthly close process, including journal entries and account reconciliations. The position also includes inventory and work-in-process (WIP) tracking, payroll processing, and partnering with project managers for financial tracking. Additionally, the Staff Accountant will assist with audit preparation, financial reporting, process improvement initiatives, system enhancements, and ad hoc projects. There will also be exposure to Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting
  • 1–3 years of accounting experience, preferably in a mid-size organization
  • Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP
  • Payroll processing experience
  • Strong Excel skills, including use of formulas and pivot tables
  • Exposure to an ERP system preferred
  • Manufacturing accounting exposure is a plus but not required

Responsibilities

  • Support the monthly close process, including preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations with resolution of variances.
  • Support inventory and work-in-process (WIP) tracking and reconciliations.
  • Payroll processing and related reporting.
  • Partner with project managers to support project setup and basic financial tracking.
  • Assist with audit preparation and financial reporting activities.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives and system enhancements and support ad hoc projects as needed.
  • Additional exposure to AP/AR.
