About The Position

Platinum Dental Services supports dental practices with the back-office resources they need to focus on patient care, and this role plays a key part in keeping our financial operations accurate and running smoothly. This role supports the day-to-day accounting operations of the company, ensuring accurate financial records and compliance with company policies and accounting standards. It's a great opportunity for someone early in their accounting career who wants hands-on experience across the full accounting cycle, with room to grow into a more senior role over time. We're looking for someone who is eager to learn, willing to engage with the team, and ready to take ownership of their assigned tasks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Associate's degree with relevant experience considered)
  • 0–3 years of relevant accounting experience, including internships
  • Working knowledge of GAAP
  • Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, Sage, or similar) and strong Excel skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • A proactive, team-oriented attitude with a genuine desire to learn and grow in the role

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Gmail) a plus

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and post journal entries and maintain the general ledger
  • Reconcile bank statements, credit card statements, and balance sheet accounts monthly
  • Process accounts payable transactions
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
  • Prepare supporting schedules for financial statements
  • Assist with payroll processing and related reporting as needed
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies
  • Assist with budget preparation and variance analysis
  • Support internal and external audits by preparing requested documentation
  • Identify and help implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy
  • Perform other accounting duties and special projects as assigned
