About The Position
ARCO is seeking a dynamic Staff Accountant to join their team in the Atlanta office. This is a long-term opportunity for an accounting professional who acts with integrity and holds themselves to high standards, and enjoys working with a collaborative team. The Staff Accountant will work closely with the Controller and various teams across the organization.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- 1-3 years of related experience.
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office applications, including Microsoft Excel
- Must be detail oriented and able to work under pressure and strict deadlines.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
Nice To Haves
- Public accounting experience a plus but not required.
- Experience with Vista/ Viewpoint Software is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Assist in reconciling balance sheet accounts monthly and investigating discrepancies.
- Assist controllers in preparing and monitoring overhead budgets.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly sales and use tax returns for various local and state entities.
- Work with controllers and project managers to obtain and renew the appropriate state and local contractor and business licenses.
- Prepare, post, and reconcile a wide range of journal entries, including job cost accruals and adjustments, ensuring accurate cost allocations, proper period recognition, and overall alignment with company financials.
- Work with controllers throughout the month end close process, supporting the preparation and review of financial statements for multiple entities.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
