We seek a qualified, motivated, and progressive individual to join our team as a Staff Accountant. Position Summary The Accountant will support the organization's accounting and financial functions while also serving in a client-facing accounting support role. Responsibilities include financial reporting, general ledger maintenance, payroll processing, accounts payable/accounts receivable, reconciliations, financial analysis, and advisory support for both internal operations and assigned clients.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • At least one (1) to two (2) years of related accounting experience required.
  • Experience working with QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online required.
  • Experience preparing financial statements, reconciliations, and journal entries.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint) and accounting software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Experience working in a Consulting, outsourced accounting, or multi-client environment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Process biweekly payroll, ensuring accurate and timely payment of wages, benefits, taxes, and deductions.
  • Maintain employee payroll records, including new hires, terminations, and pay rate changes.
  • Prepare payroll reports and reconcile payroll tax filings and related accounts.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
  • Handle travel and expense reimbursements.
  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
  • Code and enter vendor invoices, employee reimbursements, and travel expenses.
  • Manage client invoicing, collections, and purchase requests.
  • Process employee insurance payments and benefit-related transactions.
  • Reconcile credit card statements and maintain general ledger accuracy.
  • Monitor financial data, including revenues, expenses, and liabilities.
  • Investigate and resolve payroll, benefits, and accounting discrepancies.
  • Maintain payroll and financial records for audits and reporting requirements.
  • Respond to employment verification requests, audits, and financial information requests.
  • Recommend improvements to payroll and accounting systems, processes, and procedures.
  • Utilize accounting and business software, including QuickBooks Desktop, QuickBooks Online, eFAACT, and Microsoft Office.
  • Prepare and review client financial statements, reconciliations, and month-end/year-end close activities.
  • Support accounting clean-up projects and recommend process improvements.
  • Communicate financial findings and recommendations professionally with clients.
  • Participate in client meetings and manage multiple assignments in a consulting environment.
  • Demonstrate strong initiative, accountability, and independent problem-solving skills.
