About The Position

Riverside Research is looking for a Staff Accountant, under the direction of Senior Accounting Manager, will be a part of the accounting team and play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records in compliance with GAAP. This position will be supporting day-to-day accounting operations with a focus on payroll. All Riverside Research opportunities require U.S. Citizenship.

Requirements

Degree in Accounting, Finance or other relevant field
2-5 years’ work experience in accounting with at least 1 year in processing payroll
Working knowledge of UKG payroll system or similar
Experience with ERP systems (CostPoint preferred)
Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel
Strong attention to detail
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information professionally
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to research, analyze and resolve problems
Ability to handle multiple tasks at one time and prioritize
Excellent listening and communication skills

Responsibilities

Process payroll on a weekly and semi-monthly basis
Set-up leave accruals for new hires
Assist with payroll tax compliance
Process weekly expense report payments
Manage timesheet compliance
Partner closely with HR on payroll-related activities while maintaining the highest level of confidentiality, professionalism and integrity.
Manage cash-related transactions, including daily monitoring of bank activity, cash receipt processing, etc.
Reconcile balance sheet accounts monthly, develop action plans and lead resolutions on accounts
AP processing including voucher entry, new vendor setup and weekly check runs
Expense report review and approval
Assist with monthly closing activities
Assist with audits
Support special accounting projects and process improvements as needed
Provide timely, professional support to employees and external agencies regarding payroll and AP inquiries
Perform other duties as assigned
