About The Position

Installation Made Easy (“IME”) provides software and process management that enable retailers and contractors to offer installed home improvements to homeowners in a convenient, consistent, and affordable manner. IME senior management has over 100 years of retail management and home improvement industry experience. IME is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to support daily accounting operations and month-end close activities in a fast-paced remote environment. This role is responsible for daily cash and warranty transaction processing, account reconciliations, general ledger maintenance, and financial reporting support. The ideal candidate is deadline-driven, highly organized, and capable of working independently while maintaining accuracy and accountability. This individual should demonstrate strong initiative, ownership of responsibilities, and a desire to understand accounting processes from beginning to end in order to identify opportunities for improvement and operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or finance-related roles.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and reconciliation processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new software systems and technologies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a remote work environment.
  • Professional demeanor with the ability to interact effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Positive attitude with flexibility and adaptability in a changing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Record and reconcile all daily bank transactions, including Zero Balance Account (ZBA) sweeps between accounts.
  • Process and record all warranty-related transactions, including customer payouts, partner billings, provider charges, and internal expense allocations.
  • Prepare and post month-end journal entries, including but not limited to: Rent, Prepaid insurance, Royalties, Cash entries, Travel expenses, Credit card expenses.
  • Perform monthly reconciliations for: Bank accounts, Accounts payable, Accounts receivable, Prepaid expenses, Accrued liabilities, Sales tax accounts.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close activities.
  • Support tax reporting, financial statement audits, and SOX audit requests.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of accounting processes and procedures.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and recommend enhancements to workflows and internal controls.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and internal controls.
  • Perform any other responsibilities as assigned.
