About The Position

Pulakos CPAs, a local, independent CPA firm, is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our team and provide professional full-charge, bookkeeping and accounting services for our clients in New Mexico, working out of our Managed Accounting Services department. The Staff Accountant will work with our clients on General Ledger and Financial Statements, Payroll and related reporting and General assistance and consultation with related matters beyond basic bookkeeping. We offer a flexible work arrangement that allows our accountants to work from our office, at the client's office or remotely as needed.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years work experience in payroll, general ledger accounting and financial statement preparation.
• Experience with QuickBooks.
• Effective user of Word, Excel and Outlook.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working at a CPA or bookkeeping firm.
• Formal education in Accounting (degree, college classes, certifications) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional full-charge, bookkeeping and accounting services for clients.
• Work with clients on General Ledger and Financial Statements.
• Handle payroll and related reporting.
• Provide general assistance and consultation with related matters beyond basic bookkeeping.
