About The Position

The Staff Accountant at Lone Mountain Land Company is responsible for performing accounting processes and functions in a professional and knowledgeable manner. This position ensures company policies and procedures are being adhered to as they pertain to all aspects of the accounting function. This position has the option to work out of our Bozeman or Big Sky office.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of the financial accounting processes.
  • Knowledge of accounting information systems.
  • Proficiency with Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Effective organizational skills.
  • Ability to analyze financial reports.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbal and written ability to work well with others.
  • Ability to organize work independently and consistently achieve reporting deadlines.
  • Ability to interact with other individuals at all levels of management.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field as required.
  • Additional related experience would be considered in lieu of a completed degree program.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for regular accounting processes
  • Assist with balance sheet account reconciliations
  • Accounts payable/receivable processing, as needed
  • Answers accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data
  • Preparation of journal entries, recurring entries, and expense accruals
  • Responsible for daily cash reporting
  • Assist with month-end close
  • Assist with monthly bank reconciliations
  • Assist with monthly management reporting requirements
  • Maintain strictest confidentiality to ensure that privileged and/or proprietary information is adequately safeguarded against disclosure.
