About The Position

Primus Aerospace is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join their accounting team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for supporting day-to-day accounting operations, maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with month-end close, and supporting financial reporting and analysis activities. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, a solid understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments including operations, purchasing, inventory, and production.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (or related field).
  • 1–3 years of accounting experience preferred, preferably in a manufacturing environment or bookkeeping or internship experience.
  • Understanding of general accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience with ERP/accounting systems.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Applicants must be U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, protected individuals as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or otherwise eligible to obtain required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State or U.S. Department of Commerce.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of inventory, standard costing, or manufacturing accounting is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and post journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close activities.
  • Maintain general ledger accuracy and support financial statement preparation.
  • Assist with inventory accounting, cycle count reconciliation, and manufacturing cost tracking.
  • Analyze variances related to production, labor, overhead, and inventory.
  • Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes as needed.
  • Reconcile bank accounts, prepaid expenses, accruals, and fixed assets.
  • Assist with audits, and compliance reporting.
  • Prepare financial reports and supporting schedules for management review.
  • Support annual budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Work closely with operations and supply chain teams to ensure accurate financial data and reporting.
  • Maintain compliance with internal controls, company policies, and accounting standards.
  • Assist with process improvement initiatives.
  • Support FP&A activities, executive management dashboard reporting, and Board of Directors (BOD) financial reporting.
