About The Position

The onsite and in-person Staff Accountant supports the Financial Asset Management Department on maintenance of accounting books, provides financial reporting support for compliance purposes, and financial control of ongoing projects at our Coral Gables office.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in accounting or finance roles, preferably in the construction industry.
  • Strong understanding of financial statements and general ledger management.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum of two to three years of experience in financial accounting with working knowledge of US GAAP
  • Good understanding of accounting and business processes
  • Experience with Accounting Software
  • Must be a US Citizen or US Permanent Resident
  • Must possess excellent communication skills both verbal and written in English.
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally in English across multiple functions of the company and to stakeholders, at all levels.
  • Highly proficient in MS Office Suite products; Intermediate/Advanced proficiency with MS Excel (pivot tables, functions, formulas) with ability to manipulate high volumes of data for detailed financial analysis.
  • Strong organizational skills; strict attention to detail; ability to multitask and prioritize, as necessary, with minimal supervisory direction; must be flexible in handling multiple tasks.
  • Ability to prioritize deliverables and meet deadlines; strong sense of urgency; ability to meet work under pressure, to meet strict deadlines.
  • Must be able to work both independently and within a team environment; ability to effectively interact within all levels of the organization, such as with subsidiary controllers.
  • Must be commensurate with college level Finance/Accounting
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists, solve practical problems, and clearly express interpretation of various analysis.
  • Strong work ethic, responsible and honest. Demonstrate professionalism and integrity with the capability of recognizing confidentiality in the information of the daily transactions. Ability to work in a fast- paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA preferred or Master’s Degree in Accounting
  • Knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS is preferred
  • Language: English and Spanish preferred
  • The associate may occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly reconciliations for general ledger accounts.
  • Propose and prepare income/adjusting and/or re-classing entries.
  • Prepare bank reconciliations monthly.
  • Review and monitor intercompany balances.
  • Process reimbursements.
  • Review monthly payments and organize documents for board of manager approvals
  • Assist the Project Controller with Internal and External Auditor requests.
  • Perform Cash flow analysis
  • Prepare monthly fund transfers from restricted cash accounts
  • Prepare financial sections for board of managers presentations
  • Assist the controller with preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements
  • Assist in the preparation of yearly budgets and forecast updates
  • Assist with certain technical accounting research assignments.
  • Special projects and Ad-Hoc requests.
