About The Position

The Staff Accountant Team Leader is a Finance role based in Houston, TX that leads the North America Staff Accountant team while performing complex accounting activities. The primary focus is to ensure accurate financial records, timely reporting, regulatory compliance, and adherence to internal policies and procedures. This role involves reconciling accounts, reviewing journal entries, preparing financial reports, managing sales/backlog reporting, payroll entries, intercompany reconciliations, sales tax filings, fixed assets, cost allocations, and audit support. Additionally, the position provides day-to-day guidance, coaching, team development, prioritization, and problem-solving support to the North America Staff Accountant team to ensure deadlines, quality standards, and management expectations are met.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
• 5–7 years of general ledger experience
• 2+ years of team leadership experience
• Strong Excel skills
• Problem-solving ability
• Effective communication skills across all levels
