About The Position
The Staff Accountant Team Leader is a Finance role based in Houston, TX that leads the North America Staff Accountant team while performing complex accounting activities. Primary focus: Ensures accurate financial records, timely reporting, regulatory compliance, and adherence to internal policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
- 5–7 years of general ledger experience
- 2+ years of team leadership experience
- Strong Excel skills
- Problem-solving ability
- Effective communication skills across all levels
Responsibilities
- Reconciles accounts
- Reviews journal entries
- Prepares financial reports
- Manages sales/backlog reporting
- Processes payroll entries
- Performs intercompany reconciliations
- Handles sales tax filings
- Manages fixed assets
- Oversees cost allocations
- Provides audit support
- Provides day-to-day guidance, coaching, team development, prioritization, and problem-solving support to the North America Staff Accountant team to ensure deadlines, quality standards, and management expectations are met.
