About The Position

Novogradac is hiring Staff Accountant Interns for its summer 2027 internship program, running from mid-May through the middle of August 2027. The program offers hands-on experience at a growing national CPA firm and exposure to its partners, business, and client work. Interns may work on assignments involving audit, tax preparation, and research. Some positions may be eligible for remote or hybrid arrangements depending on business needs; candidates should discuss available options with their recruiter. This is a paid internship, with compensation of $27 per hour.

Requirements

• Working toward a bachelor's degree, preferably in accounting or finance, and/or having an appropriate balance of education and work experience; an obtained degree is a plus.
• GPA of 3.20 or higher.
• Basic understanding of accounting and tax rules.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to perform work accurately and efficiently, with strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through.
• Ability to work under close supervision, accept constructive feedback, and make adjustments as directed.
• Ability to collaborate and foster a productive, team-oriented environment with colleagues and clients.
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel, and report-writing tools.

Nice To Haves

• Completion of at least one Intermediate Accounting course is preferred.
• Being on track or already qualified to sit for the CPA examination is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Complete tax and/or audit engagements for designated clients as directed by a Supervisor or Manager.
• Identify and communicate potential problem areas during engagements.
• Conduct business-specific research by gathering and analyzing data, interpreting results, compiling reports, and making recommendations to principals and partners.
• Develop effective client relationships through professionalism and follow-through.
• Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
