About The Position

Novogradac is hiring Staff Accountant Interns for its busy season from January 2026 through the end of March 2026. The internship provides hands-on exposure to public accounting at a growing national CPA firm, including work on audit engagements, tax preparation, and research. Interns gain experience with the firm’s business and its work supporting clients, and are compensated for the internship. Some positions may offer remote or hybrid arrangements depending on business needs; applicants should discuss available options with their recruiter.

Requirements

Working toward a bachelor’s degree, preferably in accounting or finance; an obtained degree is a plus. An appropriate balance of education and work experience may also be considered.
GPA of 3.20 or higher.
Basic understanding of accounting and tax rules.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to perform work accurately and efficiently, with strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through.
Ability to work under close supervision, accept constructive feedback, and make adjustments as directed.
Ability to work collaboratively and foster a productive, team-oriented environment with colleagues and clients.
Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel, and report-writing tools.

Nice To Haves

Completion of at least one Intermediate Accounting course.
On track or already qualified to sit for the CPA examination.

Responsibilities

Complete tax and/or audit engagements for designated clients as directed by a Supervisor or Manager.
Identify and communicate potential problem areas during engagements.
Conduct business-specific research by gathering and analyzing data, interpreting results, compiling reports, and making recommendations to principals and partners.
Develop effective client relationships through professionalism and follow-through.
Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
