About The Position

Kalahari Resorts & Conventions is seeking a Staff Accountant – Accounts Payable to perform financial information processing, reporting, and analysis, independently or in conjunction with other accounting staff. The role focuses on vendor communications, invoice processing and disbursements, payment approvals, compliance with company procedures, and account reconciliation. The position pays $20–$23 per hour. Hospitality accounting experience is preferred.

Requirements

Two-year college degree, preferably in accounting, or equivalent education and experience.
Three to five years of employment in a related Finance or Accounting position with this company or another organization.
Knowledge of the accounting, finance, and hospitality profession.
Leadership style rooted in collaboration, respect, and service to others.

Responsibilities

Analyze and maintain vendor communications and correspondence, including reviewing and processing invoices and disbursements, preparing reports, monitoring critical payment lists, and verifying vendor statements.
Monitor and ensure compliance with company approval levels, expense reporting procedures, associate relocation disbursements, expense dictionary usage, and other policies and procedures.
Process invoices, including opening and sorting mail, batching invoices into the computer system, and obtaining payment approvals from a supervisor.
Reconcile bank accounts, clear checks from the computer system, and ensure credit card balances are accurate.
Maximize productivity, identify problem areas, and help find and implement solutions.
Perform special projects and other duties as requested by management.
