About The Position

Spooner, Arizona’s largest physical therapy private practice, is seeking a team-focused, high-energy individual to join their team as a Staff Accountant. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with accounting and payroll software required.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with general ledger postings, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
  • Computer proficiency to include various accounting programs.
  • Detail and customer-service oriented.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in a healthcare facility preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Timely and accurate data entry of all internal check requests, external vendor invoices and bank deposits.
  • Process and maintain payroll for the company meeting all payroll deadlines.
  • Perform reconciliation of receipts with the bank, the Cash Log and the Accounting System for Month-End Closing.
  • Maintain financial reporting in accounting software.
  • Process invoice payments and check distributions under the guidance and approval of the Controller.
  • Maintain files for all payables, commissions, and payroll records.
  • Prepare timely and accurate reconciliation of all deposits with the appropriate Spooner, Inc. bank statements on a monthly basis.
  • Reconcile the FIT database and prepare monthly commissions for all Spooner FIT trainers for submission to payroll.
  • Prepare and submit monthly journal entries to support the monthly closing process.
  • Handle all correspondence and communicate with both internal and external customers utilizing exceptional customer service skills with the intention of promoting and participating in positive relationship development, maintaining open and consistent dialogue while building relationships, and aligning strategies with Spooner’s customer service goals and Core Values.
  • Communicate confidential information with the appropriate parties related to both employee and company financial information using sound judgment.
  • Promote and participate in educational opportunities to enhance knowledge of job functions, industry changes, regulatory standards, and skill development.
  • Meet regularly with the Controller to review, analyze, and develop individual and team goals and expectations.
  • Adhere to all HIPAA standards.
  • Maintain a secure and safe working environment in accordance with OSHA regulations, as well as Spooner’s Safety Manual.
  • Demonstrate reliable presence and active participation in scheduled meetings.
