About The Position

The Student – Women's Basketball Jersey Washing Attendant is responsible for assisting in the operation of coordinating the work efforts of the production areas of the laundry department, and conducting weekly inventories. Cochise College requires a post offer, pre-employment background screening of all employees.

Requirements

• Enrollment at Cochise College with a minimum of six credits per semester and three credits in the summer
• Possess and maintain a 2.0 G.P.A. or higher
• Students attending Cochise College on an F-1 Visa require full-time enrollment with a minimum of 12 credits per semester and six credits in the summer
• Ability to operate washing and drying machines
• Ability to handle inquiries and problems efficiently and direct to the proper staff member
• Ability to report for work on time and notify the appropriate individual in advance if unable to work
• Ability to communicate effectively, verbal and in writing, and to relate to others in a professional, helpful manner
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment

Responsibilities

• Sorts torn and stained articles
• Sorts and counts articles to verify quantities on laundry requisitions
• Soaks contaminated articles and processes in de-staining cycle
• Cleans lint traps regularly
• Loads articles into washer and adds specified amount of detergent, soap or other cleaning agent by programming laundry machines.
• Operates laundry machinery such as washers and dryers
• Lifts clean wet articles from washer and places them successively into dryers for measured time cycles
• Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor
