About The Position

The Student – Custodial Aide is responsible for providing support to the Facilities Department by assisting in the cleaning of the college in such a way to promote health and safety. This position is open until filled with applications reviewed upon receipt and may close at any time. Cochise College requires a post-offer, pre-employment background screening of all employees.

Requirements

• Enrollment at Cochise College with a minimum of 6 credits per semester and 3 credits in the summer
• Possess and maintain a 2.0 G.P.A. or higher
• Students attending Cochise College on an F-1 Visa require full-time enrollment with a minimum of 12 credits per semester and six credits in the summer
• Knowledge of and ability to follow college policies and procedures
• Knowledge of cleaning practices and techniques to include cleaning agents, equipment and supplies
• Skill in mixing cleaning agents
• Skill in operating and using cleaning equipment
• Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, and to relate to others in a professional, helpful manner
• Ability to work independently while contributing to team environment
• Ability to work accurately, efficiently, and effectively
• Ability to maintain be accountability, reliability, and able to perform duties and responsibilities in a discreet manner with a high level of accuracy

Responsibilities

• Collects and bags garbage from the college, places the tied bags in a secured dumpster; disinfects and cleans trash cans, and replaces bags daily
• Uses cleaning solution to wet mop all washable floors daily including kitchens, offices, and classrooms
• Washes windows (inside and outside) and walls using cleaning solution as scheduled or needed
• Vacuums carpeting daily; sweeps and clears entrance spaces daily
• Reports problems and issues to site supervisor or designated staff person
• Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor
