About The Position

The Student – Food Pantry Aide is responsible for providing support to the Student Services Division by assisting the Cochise Cupboard in maintaining the food pantry, keeping accurate records and providing customer service. This position requires enrollment at Cochise College with a minimum of 6 credits per semester and 3 credits in the summer, and a 2.0 G.P.A. or higher. Students on an F-1 Visa require full-time enrollment (12 credits per semester, six in summer). The role involves ensuring a clean, safe, and efficient operation of the food pantry, adhering to food handling procedures, tracking student visitors, answering questions about services, communicating with the food pantry committee, assisting with outreach and marketing, and providing excellent customer service. The position reports to the Director of Student Leadership Activities.

Requirements

  • Enrollment at Cochise College with a minimum of 6 credits per semester and 3 credits in the summer
  • Possess and maintain a 2.0 G.P.A or higher
  • Students attending Cochise College on an F-1 Visa require full-time enrollment with a minimum of 12 credits per semester and six credits in the summer
  • Knowledge of and ability to follow college policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of standard office practices and procedures
  • Knowledge of food handling procedures
  • Ability to work accurately, efficiently, effectively, and independently with all types of data
  • Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, and to relate to others in a professional, helpful manner
  • Ability to multi-task and organize, prioritize, and follow multiple projects and tasks through to completion with an attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to team environment
  • Ability to analyze problems, identify solutions, and take appropriate actions to resolve problems using independent judgment and decision-making processes
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other department staff, faculty, students and the public

Responsibilities

  • Provide a clean, safe, and efficient operation of the food pantry.
  • Know and execute all food handling procedures.
  • Keep accurate records of the amount of student visitors to the food pantry.
  • Answer questions from students about food pantry services.
  • Provide timely communication to food pantry committee members at all times.
  • Assist in developing food pantry outreach and marketing of services.
  • Provide excellent customer service to all that visit the food pantry.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
