SRA (Multispecific Antibody Characterization)

Oxford BioTherapeutics•San Jose, CA

About The Position

Oxford Biotherapeutics is seeking a highly motivated Senior Research Associate (SRA) to join its Multispecific Development team. The role focuses on characterizing and screening trispecific T-cell engagers (TCEs) and bispecific antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs), helping advance molecules from discovery through IND-enabling studies. This is a hands-on position involving execution and optimization of assays and experimental strategies for the company’s multispecific pipeline. The successful candidate will generate data supporting molecule progression and candidate selection, contribute to iterative optimization, and present findings to project teams. They will perform antibody binding, cytotoxicity, T-cell activation, internalization, and trafficking studies, as well as generate engineered cell systems. The role also involves staying informed about relevant scientific literature and the competitive landscape, following the company’s Quality Management System, maintaining complete experimental documentation, supporting audit readiness, and improving laboratory systems and workflows.

Requirements

  • B.S. with at least 4 years or M.S. with at least 2 years of industry experience in Immunology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Bioengineering, or a related discipline.
  • Experience supporting discovery, characterization, and optimization of multispecific antibodies, specifically trispecific TCEs or bispecific ADCs.
  • Expertise with antibody binding assays, including ELISA and flow cytometry.
  • Experience with cytotoxicity assays with live readouts, such as Incucyte or eSight.
  • Experience with stable cell line generation, including lentiviral transduction and CRISPR knockout.
  • Ability to design, analyze, and interpret complex datasets and translate results into clear scientific conclusions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present data to multidisciplinary audiences.
  • Humble, team-oriented mindset and the ability to form and voice clear, independent viewpoints.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with T-cell activation assays, including reporter assays, immuno-profiling, and cytokine secretion.
  • Experience with internalization assays for ADCs.
  • Experience characterizing antibody binding via BLI or SPR.

Responsibilities

  • Execute established screening strategies to characterize and rank trispecific T-cell engagers and bispecific ADCs.
  • Generate data packages supporting molecule progression from discovery through candidate nomination and IND-enabling development.
  • Evaluate and support iterative optimization of multispecific antibody formats.
  • Present experimental findings and contribute to project team discussions.
  • Perform binding characterization using established ELISA and flow cytometry assays.
  • Design and perform real-time cytotoxicity assays, such as TDCC or piggyback ADC assays.
  • Conduct experiments assessing T-cell activation, including immuno-profiling and reporter assays.
  • Conduct internalization and trafficking studies to identify optimal ADC characteristics.
  • Generate engineered cell systems, including overexpression and CRISPR-based knockout models.
  • Stay current with relevant scientific literature, emerging multispecific therapeutic formats, and the competitive landscape of TCEs, ADCs, and OGAP; apply relevant findings to experimental planning and communicate insights to the broader team.
  • Follow OBT’s Quality Management System, including SOPs, documentation standards, electronic lab notebooks, and required training.
  • Support audit readiness and contribute to continuous improvement of laboratory systems and workflows.
  • Ensure accurate, timely, and complete documentation of experimental procedures and results.
