About The Position

ButterflyMX is seeking a Sr. Technical Program Manager, Hardware to drive connected-hardware programs from planning through validation, manufacturing, launch, and post-launch improvement. Reporting into Product and working on site with Hardware Engineering, Supply Chain, and Operations, the role requires building a detailed understanding of each program, creating clear accountability, surfacing risks early, and driving work through to completion. The role will also help strengthen ButterflyMX’s hardware program-management discipline by improving the tools, processes, and operating rhythms that support consistent execution. It is suited to someone persistent, comfortable navigating ambiguity, energized by improving how teams work, and skilled at turning complex cross-functional work into clear plans, decisions, owners, and next steps.

Requirements

  • 7–10 years of technical program management or related experience supporting complex hardware or connected-device programs.
  • Experience helping deliver at least two hardware programs through development, validation, manufacturing readiness, and launch.
  • Strong technical aptitude across mechanical, electrical, firmware, software, validation, manufacturing, and supply-chain dependencies.
  • Experience managing schedules, critical paths, RAID and decision logs, action trackers, change control, and multiple workstreams.
  • Experience coordinating prototype or production builds, supplier deliverables, material readiness, testing, defect resolution, and manufacturing handoffs.
  • Persistent follow-through, strong documentation, and confidence challenging unclear status, driving closure, and escalating risks early.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, including concise program updates, decision documents, and executive escalations.
  • Demonstrated use of AI tools to improve productivity, analysis, documentation, or communication.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with contract manufacturers, ODMs, or international suppliers.
  • Experience in IoT, access control, security, networking, or proptech.
  • An engineering or other technical bachelor’s degree is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Drive integrated program execution from requirements and prototyping through EVT/DVT/PVT, manufacturing readiness, launch, and post-launch follow-through.
  • Build a strong working knowledge of product requirements, hardware design, firmware and software dependencies, validation, manufacturing, suppliers, and unresolved technical decisions.
  • Follow up on commitments, identify stalled work or unclear ownership, remove roadblocks with cross-functional partners and leadership, hold teams and partners accountable, drive decisions and issues to closure, and escalate risks early with options, implications, and recommended actions.
  • Maintain a single source of truth for scope, schedules, milestones, owners, dependencies, risks, decisions, changes, and launch readiness.
  • Coordinate execution across Product, Engineering, Design, Validation, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Operations, Quality, Support, and external partners.
  • Coordinate prototype and production builds, including design, BOM, materials, suppliers, software, firmware, testing, defects, quality gates, and operational handoffs.
  • Improve program tools, processes, reporting, meeting cadences, and cross-functional handoffs to increase speed, accountability, and predictability.
