Sr Technical Program Manager, Data

Hyperscience•Park City, UT

About The Position

Hyperscience is seeking a Senior Technical Program Manager for Data to serve as the operational and strategic anchor for its Data Foundations initiatives. The role combines technical program management with product discovery, with approximately 60–70% of the focus on cross-functional program execution and 30–40% on product scoping and customer use-case analysis. The successful candidate will lead cross-team execution without direct authority, operationalize platform health assessments, and turn product telemetry into trusted insights, helping establish a path toward data-first capabilities in the Hyperscience platform. The role spans enterprise data initiatives involving product telemetry, platform health metrics, and modern analytics infrastructure, from inception through organizational adoption and enablement. It includes aligning Engineering, Product, Sales, and Customer Operations; translating business needs into technical requirements and roadmaps; and partnering with engineering on pipeline reliability, data event streaming, and service level agreements. The position also establishes data governance, unified definitions, and automated anomaly-detection requirements, while implementing intake, milestone-tracking, and stakeholder-update processes.

Requirements

  • 5–8 years of technical program management experience delivering complex, multi-team data programs in high-growth technology environments.
  • Ability to independently write proficient SQL queries to explore schemas, validate datasets, and investigate anomalies.
  • Foundational understanding of modern cloud data architectures, including tools such as Snowflake, dbt, or Fivetran.
  • Ability to use AI-assisted developer utilities such as Claude Code, Cursor, or GitHub Copilot to accelerate analytical workflows and technical problem-solving.
  • Ability to communicate technical trade-offs clearly to executive leaders and software engineers while steering cross-functional alignment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Statistics, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Practical experience conducting customer discovery, authoring requirement documents, and developing multi-quarter product roadmaps.
  • Prior experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or business intelligence.
  • Ability to conduct exploratory analyses and lightweight automation workflows using Python.
  • Experience with regulatory compliance, data privacy standards, and enterprise data cataloging programs.
  • Professional credentials such as PMP, PMI-ACP, AWS Certified Data Analytics, or Snowflake SnowPro.

Responsibilities

  • Lead enterprise data initiatives across product telemetry, platform health metrics, and modern analytics infrastructure from inception through broad organizational adoption and enablement sessions.
  • Coordinate across Engineering, Product, Sales, and Customer Operations to resolve technical dependencies and drive timely delivery without direct reporting lines.
  • Author detailed technical requirements, user stories, and execution roadmaps that translate complex business needs into deliverable milestones.
  • Partner with engineering teams to scale pipeline reliability, improve data event streaming, and establish clear service level agreements.
  • Establish reliable data governance frameworks and unified data definitions, and write requirements for automated anomaly detection.
  • Implement transparent intake processes and milestone tracking, conduct team meetings, and provide regular stakeholder updates to identify risks early and support predictable delivery.
  • Conduct product scoping and customer use-case analysis.

Benefits

  • Company-covered healthcare coverage plans for employees and their families, including HSA, PPO, vision, dental, and mental health wellness plans.
  • 401(k) through Empower with a company match of up to 6% of annual salary.
  • Flexible-use PTO that is unaccrued and uncapped, subject to manager approval.
  • 12 weeks of paid parental leave, with an additional 4 weeks paid for birthing parents.
  • Opportunity to own stock options in the company.
  • Work-from-home options.
