About the Role: The Senior Technical Instructional Designer is responsible for designing high-impact, scalable learning experiences for technical enablement audiences, including Sales Engineers, Partners and Alliances.This role partners closely with the Director of Content Development on the revenue enablement team to translate technical strategy, product capabilities, field priorities and business requirements into structured learning programs that build technical fluency, improve field execution, and scale enablement impact globally. While being a technical practitioner is not required, strong technical acumen and the ability to quickly understand complex technical concepts are critical to success in this role. Candidates with prior experience as a Sales Engineer, technical pre-sales professional, or in a hands-on technical role will be especially well positioned to excel. This role focuses on: Advanced learning design Curriculum architecture Learner experiences The Senior Technical Instructional Designer will partner with SMEs, course writers, content developers, and enablement stakeholders to: Define instructional approaches Establish design standards Bring technically accurate, engaging, and practical training to life across multiple delivery formats This role is critical to how we enable technical sellers and partners at scale. By combining senior-level instructional design expertise with strong technical understanding, you’ll help ensure our technical enablement programs are accurate, engaging, strategically aligned, and impactful.

Requirements

Proven experience utilizing AI technologies to enhance decision-making, streamline workflows and processes, improve efficiency and drive business outcomes.
Significant experience designing training for technical enablement audiences such as: Sales Engineers, Partners, Alliances, Technical sellers, Customer-facing technical teams
Advanced instructional design expertise, including: Learning objective development, Curriculum architecture, Assessment strategy, Learner journey planning, Applied learning design, Measurement of learning effectiveness
Demonstrated ability to operate with a high degree of autonomy, translating ambiguous or high-level business and technical objectives into scalable, effective learning solutions
Strong ability to work with highly technical stakeholders, quickly understand complex subject matter, and convert technical complexity into clear, practical, field-relevant learning experiences
Experience designing learning across multiple delivery modalities, including: eLearning, ILT, VILT, Workshops, Labs, Simulations, Blended programs
Strong stakeholder management skills, including the ability to influence SMEs, field leaders, and cross-functional partners without direct authority
Excellent communication, organization, prioritization, and program management skills
Ability to set instructional design standards, guide others in applying them, and ensure consistency across complex learning programs
Experience using feedback, data, and field insights to evaluate learning effectiveness and improve curriculum design over time
Proven experience utilizing AI technologies to enhance decision-making, streamline workflows and processes, improve efficiency and drive business outcomes.

Prior experience as a Sales Engineer, technical pre-sales professional, solutions consultant, or in a hands-on technical role
Background in SaaS, cybersecurity, cloud, data, AI, or other complex technology domains
Experience designing applied technical learning such as: Labs, Simulations, Technical workshops, Certification paths, Scenario-based training
Experience building scalable curriculum frameworks, competency models, role-based learning paths, or technical enablement academies
Familiarity with enablement and learning platforms such as: Highspot, Docebo, Rise, Synthesia, Articulate, Similar tools
Experience mentoring or coaching other instructional designers, course writers, or content developers
Experience using AI-assisted tools to improve learning design, content development, assessment creation, and iteration

Responsibilities

Partner closely with the Director of Content Development to shape enablement strategies, curriculum roadmaps, and scalable learning programs for technical sellers, partners, and alliance audiences
Translate technical strategy, product complexity, and field needs into clear learning objectives, curriculum architectures, learner journeys, and instructional frameworks
Lead the design of end-to-end learning experiences, including: Course architecture, Assessments, Applied exercises, Scenario-based learning, Labs, Workshops, Blended programs
Serve as a strategic instructional design partner to highly technical SMEs by: Extracting knowledge, Challenging assumptions, Validating accuracy, Ensuring learning aligns to real-world technical and field use cases
Establish and maintain instructional design standards, templates, frameworks, and best practices across technical enablement programs
Guide, review, and support course writers, content developers, and other contributors to ensure execution aligns with instructional design standards, learner needs, and program goals
Design for multiple delivery modalities, including: eLearning, Instructor-led training, Virtual instructor-led training, Workshops, Labs, Simulations, Blended learning experiences
Apply adult learning principles, technical enablement best practices, and performance-based learning strategies to improve: Retention, Confidence, Technical fluency, Field application
Partner cross-functionally with enablement, product, technical SMEs, field leaders, and partner-facing teams to ensure learning programs support business priorities and field readiness needs
Use learner feedback, field insights, performance indicators, and evolving technical priorities to assess effectiveness and continuously improve learning experiences
Identify opportunities to increase consistency, scalability, reusability, and efficiency across technical enablement curriculum and content development processes
Leverage tools such as Google Workspace, enablement platforms, authoring tools, and AI-assisted design tools to accelerate design, iteration, and content development
