The Sr. Systems Sales Engineer will join the Systems Engineering & Solution Sales team at Nutanix, a dynamic group situated in Houston, Texas. This team is made up of over 800 dedicated professionals who focus on delivering customer-driven solutions by identifying and aligning technology opportunities with the unique business challenges of clients. You will report to the Manager, Systems Engineering, who leads with a supportive and empowering style, encouraging team members to take initiative and develop their technical expertise. This role is remote, providing flexibility in your work arrangements, with the expectation of minimal on-site presence as there are no designated office days required for this position. The role will involve approximately 30% travel to engage with customers, conduct product demonstrations, and participate in technical evaluations. This travel will primarily focus on client locations and events, ensuring that you can effectively support customers in their transformational journeys.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in a customer-facing technical role, including 3+ years as a Presales Engineer.
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Information Technology.
  • Hands-on technical aptitude with adaptability to market demands.
  • Strong analytical skills to solve complex problems and suggest solutions.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills in English.
  • Effective project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Subject matter expertise in data center and cloud technologies, particularly around Nutanix products.
  • Ability to mentor new hires and collaborate cross-functionally.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with sales teams to develop account plans and tailor technical proposals based on customer requirements.
  • Provide technical expertise in Nutanix solutions through product demonstrations and sales presentations.
  • Engage with customers to understand their business challenges and deliver customized solutions as a trusted advisor.
  • Manage complex accounts and oversee larger sales transactions to drive revenue growth.
  • Gather and communicate customer feedback to improve Nutanix products and services.
  • Support technical evaluations (POCs) to facilitate the sales process and ensure successful customer adoption.
  • Act as a mentor to new hires and cross-functional teams, fostering knowledge sharing and collaboration.
  • Achieve a set target for the number of technical wins and customer engagements in the first year.
