As a Systems Engineer, you will be using your skills and expertise to define, design, simulate, integrate, test, certify, and support cutting edge products and services. These cover a very wide range from state of the art mission payloads and electronic systems through highly integrated aircraft to orbital and space exploration systems. You’ll be responsible for designing systems to meet demanding customer requirements, developing and building complex systems integration labs to verify the design, and integrate a variety of systems together to create a seamless product for the customer. As a cross functional engineer, you'll perform system and component-level integration of new products and develop new integration processes throughout the product lifecycle. The ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance), Aviation, and Security (IAS) business area is a leader in ISR and aviation, it is a leading prime manned and unmanned aircraft systems integrator for innovative, high-performance ISR and aviation systems. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
  • 10 or more years of experience in systems engineering or related field
  • Higher education may substitute for relevant experience
  • Basic knowledge of engineering principles and practices.
  • Experience working in multidisciplinary design & development teams
  • Understanding of requirements development and management, system design, systems integration, technical risk identification, management strategies, and Verification and Validation (V&V) principles
  • Knowledge and hands-on experience with networking protocols, hardware/software interface issues, and system/subsystem integration.
  • Familiarity with the latest trends and best practices in systems engineering, cybersecurity, and computer networking.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to address and resolve hardware/software interface issues effectively, as well as identify capability gaps.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of system integration lab operation to include hardware in the loop (HWIL) design
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools, including continuous integration and deployment, automation, and monitoring
  • Experience with virtualized and containerized environment architecture, setup, administration and deployment (e.g., vSphere, Proxmox, RHEL KVM, OpenShift)
  • ISSO Security+, CISA, or CASP+ Certification
  • Ability to apply technical principles, theories, and concepts. Contributes to the development of new principles and concepts.
  • Technical problem solving skills and ability to develop innovative technical solutions.
  • Ability to guide technical designs through development into a final deliverable product.
  • Ability to work successfully in a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment emphasizing rapid prototyping and fielding of capabilities, with minimal supervision.
  • Proven successful experience in project definition, simulation, implementation, lab integration and test.
  • Ability to read schematics, use service manuals, follow test procedures, and use logical trouble shooting techniques
  • Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, Government, or US Military

Responsibilities

  • Exhibit expert-level skills in requirements engineering, systems integration, V&V, and MBSE.
  • Oversee and lead complex system and decision analysis, technical planning, and risk management activities.
  • Manage major project deliverables and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  • Leverage deep knowledge in architecture/design development, technical monitoring, and lifecycle management.
  • Provide strong leadership and effective communication.
  • Mentor and guide team members.
