About The Position

The Sr Specialist, Quality Assurance executes in-house and third-party ad-hoc product testing for Lowe’s quality assurance organization. The role focuses on validating product performance against performance claims and customer expectations, then documenting findings in reports that support quality improvement through corrective actions. The specialist works closely with global quality assurance and cross-functional global merchandising teams to ensure testing meets business needs. The position is based at Lowe’s headquarters in Mooresville, North Carolina.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, technical sciences, or a related field, or equivalent years of experience in lieu of the education requirement, if applicable.
• 1–2 years of experience in consumer product testing in a manufacturing or retail environment.
• Experience with electrical or mechanical testing, such as tensile strength testing or metallurgical analysis.
• Experience writing technical reports and the ability to communicate effectively.

Nice To Haves

• Strong understanding of quality tools such as root cause analysis and corrective action planning (CAP).

Responsibilities

• Execute physical tests for multiple simultaneous in-house testing projects using test plans.
• Apply testing methodologies to assess customer-oriented product performance, including fit, form, function, assembly, and installation.
• Provide technical direction and oversee execution of third-party testing requests.
• Provide insights on evaluations and design considerations related to OSHA’s Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory Program listings.
• Collaborate with merchandising, product development, and branding teams to define, communicate, and execute testing expectations.
• Analyze test results and write reports with findings and recommendations for quality improvement through corrective actions.
• Use complex testing equipment according to project scope and testing objectives.
• Work with external vendors to communicate and understand performance requirements.
